Passed away at home on Nov. 9, 2014 from cancer. He was born on Aug. 21, 1928 in Riverside, CA and was a life long resident. He graduated from Poly High School in 1946 and Riverside City College with an AA Degree. He served in the Army for 2 years, SFC and was awarded a Good Conduct medal, Korean Service medal, United Nations Service medal and a National Defense Service medal. He was a member of the Magnolia Ave. Baptist Church and Paradise Valley Model A Car Club. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce E. Doty (died 2/11.) He is survived by sons David R. Doty, Jr., married to Kristy Doty, Riverside, CA and Gregory D. Doty, married to Cynthia Doty of Pinion Hills, CA; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be on Wed, Nov. 19 at 11:30am at Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary. Burial will be private at National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in his name to Magnolia Ave. Baptist Church "Building for Tomorrow".
